U14 Girls Erik Barbon grew up in Canada and Argentina. He attended college at Gannon University in Erie, PA where he met his wife, Tracy. Both of them played soccer at Gannon. Erik currently teaches spanish at Bayshore high school in Bradenton. Erik played soccer professionally in Ontario Canada(NSL) and in Argentina for Mendoza. At the college level, Coach Erik has been an assistant coach at Gannon and the head coach at Mercyhurst Northeast. He currently holds a USSF “B” license and a Goalkeeper Diploma. U13 Girls Charlie Clark has been part of the soccer community here in Sarasota since 1994. He has coached boys and girls teams at all ages over those years, while also serving as the president of three different soccer clubs here in Sarasota. Coach Charlie graduated from Grove City College in PA, where he met his wife, Becky. They have 3 children. Charlie has been coaching at Suncoast since it was formed. As a head coach, his teams have finished first in their league three times and been highly ranked in the State. He is most proud of the fact that almost every player he has coached has continued playing soccer through their high school years and many have gone on to play at the college level. He has an USSF “E” license. U18 Boys
Larry Ferguson is from Brentwood, NY and he attended college at the University of South Florida. He is married to Suzy and they have three children. Larry played soccer for 13 years. He was a starting midfielder on his U14 team, which won the NY State championship. He was the captain of his high school team and was selected to the All County team. Coach Larry currently holds a USSF “D” license. He has coached for 11 years in Manatee and Hillsborough counties. His teams have won their league division two years and they finished second in USA Div I last year. They have also won multiple tournaments and always finished in the quarter finals or better in the Region C Cup.U16 Boys Rafal Baranski was born in Gorlice, Poland. He went to college at Davis and Elkins College before transferring to Monmouth University in New Jersey, where he was a college Honorable All-American. He went on to play professionally in Sweden in the 1st Division with the IFK Varnamo team and here in the USA for the NY/NJ Stallions in the USISL and the Shore Hurricanes in the Lanzera League. Ralph curently works at Montgomery Asset Management on Longboat Key. Ralph has been living and coaching in the Sarasota area for the past 11 years. He just completed a highly successful season with our U18 Boys team, taking them to the finals of the President's Cup State Championship. Ralph coached and trained this year's high school soccer player of the year, Marco Pidilla, a forward on this team. Since this was a team of almost all seniors, Ralph was successful in securing college scholarship opportunities for many of his U18 players. He has asked to coach this U16 Boys team throughout their high school years in an effort to accomplish the same results for these new players. U14 Boys
Gerry Warren was born in Sarasota, FL, and has been developing players and coaches in our city since 1980. He currently holds a National “B” license, a Youth National License, a National Goalkeeper License, and a NSCAA Advanced National License. Gerry has been a Florida State Staff coach for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) since 1994. Coach Gerry also has been the Sarasota Special Olympics soccer coach since 1990. He has coached at both Cardinal Mooney and Riverview High Schools. Gerry currently teaches history at Brookside Middle School. He and his wife, Mary Ann, have two sons both living in the area. Over the last 30 years Gerry has conducted and volunteered his time directing clinics, camps, and intramural programs at many Sarasota County area schools and for many nonprofit organizations. Gerry has spent his entire life giving back to our community and our kids through his endless hours of teaching life’s lessons by using soccer as the guide. U12 Boys Matt McLeod is a Florida native and has lived on Siesta Key for more than 30 years. He attended Riverview High school. During his senior year, Riverview won their first District championship. He was voted the team MVP and led them in scoring and assists. He accomplished the same MVP award, leading scorer and assist leader during his senior year at Bethany College in West Virginia. He is currently a USCG licensed captain and works for Yellowfin Yachts. Matt has been coaching soccer for the last 4 years with Suncoast Sports Club and currently plays on the White Rhinos soccer team. The Rhinos play at the Sarasota Football Club. |
